Very happy with the cover and cage. A few ideas for you.
1. A hinge on the bottom would be nice. it would allow an operator to quickly open & close cover. Taking the cover on & off is not an issue with the present design, And It can hold pens, small flash light, connectors, adapters, ect.
2. If no hinge possible, maybe a pair of clips or some way to secure it to the cage, because i guarentee people will misplace it, lose it, or it grows legs & walks off.
3. The NATO mount. Ok, where do i find the Male/Female bracket or whatever to mate this with. Like to hang it off the dash of my JEEP Patriot, but cant find any info on one.
4. Im thinking of painting the cage Rescue orange or Safety Yellow. Maybe you should think about offering different colors.
5. My only beef with the product is the antenna mount. I dont like the way the mount interferes with the audio [mic] connection. If i want to use my Heil headset I have to dismout the antenna assembly. Ive replaced it with another antenna mount that also acts as an adjustable crutch.
6. Props to KN6VAN from me, N2TBH for the nice QSL card. My friends in GSBARC are very impressed with the cage & so am I. Now make one for the IC-7200, which is my backpack expedition radio. If KN6VAN checks my QRZ page he will see what i mean.
